TEAM AMERICA WORLD POLICE

Well here’s my first shot at this whole review thing. TruthBringer was nice enough to allow my wife and I to contribute DVD reviews to his site. Shit, now I have to try to be informative, witty, funny, intelligent and educational all at once. I have a tough enough time walking and chewing gum. Buy hey, I’ll give it a try!

On a side note, if TruthBringer has reviewed the movie from when it was in theatres, I will let you know my opinion but I will tell you to go read his review. My main purpose here is to review the extras of a DVD.

First up, Team America – World Police (Uncensored and Unrated Special Collector’s Edition). If you have not seen this movie, go rent it now before I must hunt you down and beat you with a tack hammer!!! OK, TruthBringer and I actually saw this in the theatre together and we could not stop laughing at this outrageously violent, crass and wrong puppet movie. His review is posted on TruthBringer.com and go check it out. I whole heartedly agree with him that Matt and Trey did it again. This may not be as good a movie as Bigger, Longer and Uncut, but it is damn close!

So what’s so great about the DVD? Two words: PUPPET SEX! Yup, that is the only thing added to the actual movie on this DVD. The Puppet sex scene goes on for much longer with more outlandish positions and even some very, VERY wrong bodily fluids.

This extended sex scene is the only thing that differentiates this version of the DVD from the regular edition. If you must have puppet bodily fluids pick up the unrated version, if not the other version is just as good.

Other extras:

Some decent outtakes and extra scenes. None of these are that memorable or funny but they are a nice addition.

The theatrical trailers (why are these always included? Does anyone ever actually watch these?)

The main reason to pick up either DVD edition are the featurettes. These are hosted by Matt and Trey. They are actually pretty funny, but also REALLY informative. They show all of the hardships the entire crew went through with the restrictions the puppets put on the production.

In the featurettes Matt and Trey reveal they wanted to make a Michael Bay parody using puppets. Unfortunately, they had no idea how damn aggravating puppets can actually be. To watch them talk about all of the complications and hardships they went through really give you an idea of how awesome a feat this movie really was.

Unfortunately, as with Bigger, Longer and Uncut, no Matt and Trey commentary. This would have been the perfect opportunity for some hilarious commentary, but none here. That is the ONLY drawback to this DVD.

In conclusion, go BUY this DVD (with or without extended puppet sex).
